Career | Study
History

2021-2022 | Unreal Developer | RealWorld-One
Collaborated with teams of developers to create realistic VR simulations for use in industry ranging from
Lab Safety simulations to Equipment maintenance. I worked primarily in Blueprint and assisted in support with
bringing projects to mobile VR with the use of Android deployments and knowledge sharing sessions.

2022 - 2023 | Research and development | Construct Games
I took some time away from professional development to focus on well-being and research into newer technology in Unreal Engine 5. I published a new pack on the unreal marketplace with the Selection Outline hightlights pack and worked on Drone VR to learn more about Unreal 5.

2023 | Unreal Developer WoodBlock | Short-term Contract
Collaborated with artists and senior developer to create an immersive experience
which aims to use innovative methods to alter the users experience. 
I created a variety of material and particle effects in tandem with Blueprints which would trigger sequence events such as Weather and Time Of Day change in real-time. 

2023 | Unreal Developer Jangle Nerves | Short-term Contract
Collaborated with another blueprint engineer and CSM to bug fix menus in UMG and provide new features for a showroom presentation product for a large commercial client. 
Lead the redevelopment and optimization of the menus. 

 

2013 - 2016 | Games Design and Development Grimsby University | Bachelors Award
Studied Games Design and Development for 3 years where I became fluent in C# for Unity. 
in 2014 once Unreal 4 released began learning Blueprint and have since sparingly used C++ for minor side projects.  

2016 - 2021 | Unreal Marketplace Content Developer | Construct Games
Published 9 Asset packages on the unreal marketplace,
notably the IES Light Profile Pack became a part of the Unreal Permanently Free Collection
Initially Unreal marketplace did not support per name publications so I created the trading name of Construct Games.

2016 - 2019 | Senior Unreal Developer | Contingency
Collaborated remotely with a team of 40+ hobbyist developers to develop a FPS game in unreal. Worked on Blueprint systems, particle systems and materials.
Became Project Director in 2017 where I would work in tandem with creative leads on delivering the project to the public with an open Alpha release.

Shield & Health System

Released on the Unreal engine marketplace 
The Shield and Health package was made in Blueprint providing both the code and art assets to quickly implement staple features used in many AAA games

SELECTION OUTLINE HIGHLIGHTS

Released on the Unreal engine marketplace 
The Selection Outline highlights pack was made in combination of Blueprints, post process materials and particle effects to give fast access to common features found in many games today

VFX Series Pack 1

Released on the Unreal engine marketplace 
The VFX Series Packs were created to provide a variety of visual effects for use ranging from projectiles and lightning to futuristic looking wormholes

IES Light profile pack

Released on the Unreal engine marketplace 
The IES Light Profile pack was quickly appraised by Epic Games it became a part of the Permanently Free Collection and featured on developer outlets such as 80.Lv

Snowpult!

Published on Itch.IO and made during the 2020 Summer Gamejam
This game is a catchy point and click where you rack up scores by slinging snowballs at the timed rings

DRONE VR

Made as a side project, Drone VR was made to be a simple time trial racer which could be played in VR
